Black History Month & Kente Cloth
When you think of African fabric, you probably think of the beautiful and vibrant colors of kente cloth. In fact, no fabric is more associated with Africa than the beautiful designs of the kente cloth fabrics. Kente cloth originated in the areas near Ghana and has always been revered as sacred and spiritual. The Kente cloth was typically worn by royalty and during very significant times of importance. Today, the kente cloth is much more widespread and available to anyone, but the beauty and mystique is still the same as it was in the distant past.
